Interpersonal Skills
Kelly is an experienced and talented cook with a personable and positive attitude. She is very hard-working, loyal and conscientious with a happy disposition. Calm under pressure, she is able to prioritise her time and workload to ensure maximum efficiency. In her role as Chef/Yacht Manager, Kelly strives to make her guests time aboard as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Understanding the importance of discretion and caring for prestigious yachts, are responsibilities that she takes very seriously and approaches this important role with total professionalism at all times.
Cooking Skills/Background
- Experience: Kelly is an experienced Chef with over 5 years experience cooking professionally. Passionate about working in the hospitality industry she worked in various roles in Hotels and Restaurants for 7 years before she started working aboard Luxury Yachts. Kelly has proven experience in planning, preparing & delivering meals to a high standard.
- Background: Previous to this she enjoyed cooking at home for family and friends.
- Training: Most recently she attended a cookery course at the Rick Stein Cookery School when she acquired skills in fish and shellfish preparation, cooking and presenting. Kelly plans to continue to attend similar courses in the future to add to her already varied and skilled repertoire.
- Skills & Attributes: Kelly is best described as a talented and adventurous cook. She is passionate about cooking and would be happy to cook for the family on a regular basis but where she really shines is cooking for special occasions, dinner parties, cocktail parties and family gatherings. She loves to please, try new recipes and really make every day a special event.
Housekeeping Skills
From the housekeeping point of view, she is meticulous and will see that everything is as it should be within the home/yacht, paying great attention to detail and taking great pride in the way the home looks and the ambience it conveys. Kelly is responsible for provisioning, keeping inventory of cleaning and hardware products, food and beverages.
Business Skills
Kelly is both Apple MAC and PC literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office as well as the Internet. She is able to keep business accounts, petty cash records, process Payroll and Annual Tax Returns, deal with Trade licenses, Work Permits and any necessary tasks involved in the running of the business. She is able to type, email, fax, photocopy and has an excellent telephone manner. Kelly has shown success in her marketing campaigns keeping the Yacht busy with Charters, bringing in new and repeat clients in an increasingly competitive market. She has worked on creating a new website, focussing on SEO & SMO to ensure that the business is making use of all its resources. She has a flare for creating impressive newsletters and brochures that keep the brokers and clients interested.
Sailing Experience
Kelly started sailing during her time spent in the Summers in North Wales. She began her career in Yachting when she met Jonny, completing her first atlantic crossing with him in 2005 from the Canary Islands to St Lucia. Since then she has spent most of her time sailing throughout the Caribbean and on the East Coast of the US from Maine down to New England, Manhattan & the Chesapeake. This year she will be sailing the Western Mediterranean working in the South of France, Italy and Greece.
Sports Experience
Kelly has a love for all Water Sports, especially Dinghy Sailing and Wake Boarding. She is always happy to take to the water with her guests. She enjoys most sports, Cycling, Tennis, Skiing & Golf being some of her favourites. Kelly runs most days and is more than happy to take her guests for a jog through the local countryside. She also practices Yoga and welcomes guests join her for a session.
